Explorer Kids at Downtown East organised a mini art fair to usher in the school term break. We were invited to set up our booth at the biggest indoor theme park in Singapore.
This special request was for a group of 12 person to be awarded certificates at the Ministry of Home Affairs. The certificate is unique in that it bears the recipients caricature. I think it’s a novel idea that will definitely be a pleasant surprise. We used a Wacom tablet to draw digital caricature and using layers in photoshop to standardise the background. The computer is just a tool as this is still pure drawing. There were no tracing or manipulation by filter. It is actually much tougher than conventional drawing but we’re getting the hang of it and will do more digital medium if required.
The formula one fever is heating up as the first ever Singapore F1 will take place in a few weeks time. This caricature is a surprise gift for a husband who is a go kart racer. The request is for him to be in his driver suit. We placed him standing triumphantly over a F1 racer and the wife as the hot racer queen.
This is a gift for a department boss of Citibank. Her staff wanted to portray her as their fairy godmother as she was very caring and creates miracles for staff wellness.
This was a commissioned gift by graduating students at National Institute of Education for their Dean.
Its a birthday party for a 70-year-old gentleman who’s son is an event planner. He engaged me to entertain at the party held at a multi-function hall along Ang Mo Kio Ave 5. This was quite a fun crowd as there were so many interesting faces to draw and they enjoyed it.
The colleagues of Mr. Seneman wanted a unique gift for their most senior fireman of 28 years service at Central Fire Station . He has been promoted and will be transferred so they requested for a unique gift. SCDF firemen these days are well equipped with sophisticated equipment, so we drew him in MSA Gallet F1 Fire Helmet and a water mist gun.
A broadcast journalist who interviewed Kamal during his caricature graffiti performance at the Esplanade during NDP08 ordered a caricature as birthday gift for her husband. He is probably a fan of Manga comics or a Japanophile. Either way, we made him into a fierce Samurai warrior by our standards.
A nice lady ordered two separate caricatures for her niece and nephew. These makes a lovely birthday gift for the boy who aspire to be a graduate and young lady with princess fantasies.
